With Degree's debut in the whole body deodorant game came the task of creating content that stood out but still took consumers through the basics of a new category. VML was brought in with just one month to accomplish this ask for U.S. socials and digital. My team and I hit the ground running, creating a campaign that added a twist of American humor to the global roll-out. Or, spray-out.
The euphemistic, cheeky approach Degree was using overseas in the UK just wasn’t hitting the same stateside. We proposed something…ballsier (pun fully intended). We helped our creative director team shoot straight-on, no-nonsense application shots and spelled out each body part in big, clean lettering. Our creative director team worked with an audio engineer to create an AI-performed re-write of “Heads, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” listing out all the places one could use the product.
I then flexed the visual treatment across just enough placements to brick my laptop. In total, our team delivered over 100 ads in just one month, starting off a brand new client relationship with a bang.
